Lessons 1/12/15 - 18/12/15

Lesson 1

Today I continued editing the footage after we received some constructive criticism. we were told that the intercutting between the two lines of action was to slow and it needed more cuts, so to do this I extended the footage of Charlie singing and cut up Ants line of action to spread it out, it took time to fit the cuts around the more interesting shots of Charlie singing, where she is showing more emotion, while trying to avoid too much footage of her just standing still.

Lesson 2

Today I chose to concentrate on the digipack, I had previously created several elements of it, such as the text and chosen a rough shortlist of possible images, and created a digipack; however after this two main points were raised, that the space themed text didn't quite fit in, and that the colour scheme between the pictures stopped in from working, as all the different panes had slightly different characteristic, so I went about adjusting the black and white images so that they matched, as previously one of them was so black it created a shadow, while the other black and white image still showed the light reflecting off the bottle

Lesson 3/4

Today I focused on the video; another problem that Mr Fiveash had brought to light was that there was too little camera movement in our video. He taught me a technique, which allowed me to adjust the starting position of frames, by selecting the first frame of a clime, then using key frames moved it, then I selected the last frame of the clip and moved the position of the image, and when I unlocked it, this created a gradual movement within that particular clip. I believe this particular effect to work well with certain shots such as the long exposures.

Lesson 5

Today I focused on conducting the poster to fit in 'Mixmag', however I didn't make much progress as I was really just trying to gain inspiration through playing with the software, as our original plan was not obtainable. I ended up with an unconventional image that looked completely separate from the rest of our digipack

Lesson 6

This lesson was much more successful when designing the poster, as I obtained a seemingly boring photo from our D-drive that we had not planned to use within our promotional campaign, and used Photoshop to separate the layers, and insert a more interesting sky, like I had done for one of digipack panes, and inserted the necessary text to get the final image.
