AP - Music Video Ideas

Coldplay - A Sky Full Of Stars

* I like the idea of the one man band walking down the street but this will be hard to do if we choose this sort of style as we have to have the permission of the public to be in our video. This will be hard to do plus there are certain rules involved with filming in the town meaning it may not be allowed. But as I like the idea, it is always worth a shot seeing what we can do and if we are allowed to do it.
* The use of the public is effective as it does not look like a professional music video. They look like they are unaware a video is being filmed and they are just watching and listening to the music as the singer is walking down the street.
* Upbeat song which is what we are hoping to do. Upbeat pop songs tend to be filled with action in the music video which is something I am interested in as it gives us lots to work with and potentially could be quite fun to film.
* Although as a group we do not really want to do any performance for the final piece, this is something I would consider. But not for the whole music video as it does get tedious after a while.

Wilkinson – Afterglow

* The music video for this song is simple and effective. Although it will be easy to film, it is hard to put together as there are loads of different shots.
* The music video has no order, but the different shots each tell a different fact about the relationship between the young couple.
* This video is also a montage of lots of different shots which will be time consuming to film, but when it comes to editing it will be easier as you will not have to match shots up frame by frame.
* Upbeat song, pop music. There is no performance in this video which is something we are considering as neither of us want to be involved with performance.
* There is only two people involved in this music video which is good for our group as there is 3 of us. Therefore there is the potential for one of us to be filming and the other two to be in the video, this is ideal as we will not have to cast anyone else as it can be hard to make sure they are free when we are looking to film.

Rudimental - Waiting All Night

*Again, like the other music videos, there is no performance in this music video which is something we are going for.
* The music video for this song looks like there is just a bunch of mates with a camera filming their day out on their bikes until something goes wrong. In this video there is an equilibrium where they are riding around having fun and then the equilibrium is disturbed when one of the friends gets knocked off of his bike. After this we see the rehabilitation of the man as he has his leg amputated.
* Drum and bass song which is quite upbeat which is a genre which we like as a group.
* Narrative based but there is not a strong link between the lyrics and the visuals.
